LOCAL WALK

 For Brassington Walk please click on the link below. This walk is local to one of our holiday sites in the Derbyshire Peak District. Knockerdown Holiday Cottages.

Length: 5.5 miles

 

Start/Finish: Wirksworth Dale Car Park. 

 

Location: Between the B5056 Ashbourne to Bakewell road, and the B5035 Ashbourne to Wirksworth road.

 

Terrain: Steady ascents, generally easy going. The walk joins the High Peak Trail.

Brassington Features 

Brassington is a Limestone village, with quaint winding streets, has two pubs located in the heart of the village called Miners Arms (18th century) & Ye Olde Gate Inn which has been named one of the cosiest pubs by “The Times” and is nearly 400 years old!!!!

On either side of the village you will find strange rock formations called Rainster Rocks & Harborough Rocks.
